In this project, I was contracted to create 12 colourful children's book illustrations about a young boy discovering that his beautiful home, in the Solomon islands, has become polluted with rubbish. Lets see if our young friend can make a difference?

I wanted to capture the bright aesthetics of the Solomon islands environment by using a soft brush set 'Kyles real watercolor' and a muted colour palette.

The story is about Kai as he visits some friends and some beautiful places around Tetepare Island. On his way he keeps finding rubbish in the environment and helps the indigenous animals.  It was really fun doing research on the indigenous animals!

Where will he throw all the rubbish he has collected? - It's a great lesson for young children.
